New article on the lessons to be learned from models evaluating the feasibility of Desertec by Professor Backhaus published in Energy

The article "Comparing the Incomparable: Lessons to be learned from models evaluating the feasibility of Desertec" co-authored by Philipp Gausling and Luise Hildebrand, has been published in the current issue of Energy (volume 82). Overall, the authors findings demonstrate that the models’ comparability is limited due to varying assumptions, but, more importantly, that the models do not account for uncertainty comprehensively and omit important risks.

The article of Dr. Sonja Gensler (co-authored with Franziska Völckner, Yuping Liu-Thompkins and Caroline Wiertz) “Managing Brands in the Social Media Environment” was a runner-up (one of the three finalists) for the 2014 Award for the Best Paper published in the Journal of Interactive Marketing (JIM) during 2013.

Article of Prof. Wiesel „The Predicitve Ability of Different Customer Feedback Metrics for Retention“ listed in the recent Top Ten paper downloads

The article of Prof. Thorsten Wiesel „The Predicitve Ability of Different Customer Feedback Metrics for Retention" (co-authored with Evert de Haan and Peter C. Verhoef) was recently displayed on the SSRN's Top Ten download lists for MRN Operations Research Network, Marketing Science eJournal and OPER Subject Matter eJournals. From the beginning of January as of 16 March 2015, the paper has been downloaded 54 times and is thus the second most downloaded (i.e. read) article.

New article on Customer Feedback Metrics by Professor Wiesel has been accepted for publication in the International Journal of Research in Marketing

The article "The Predictive Ability of Different Customer Feedback Metrics for Retention" co-authored by Evert de Haan and Professor Peter C. Verhoef (both Rijksuniversiteit Groningen), has been accepted for publication by the International Journal of Research in Marketing. Overall, the authors find that the top-2-box customer satisfaction performs best for predicting customer retention and that focusing on the extremes is preferable to using the full scale.

Anne Peschel zu Besuch am IfM

Im Rahmen ihres Doktorandenprogrammes verbringt M.Sc. Anne Peschel von der Universität Aarhus, Dänemark, in den Monaten Februar und März einen Forschungsaufenthalt am Insitut für Marketing. An ihrer Heimatuniversität lehrt Frau Peschel  zu quantitativen Analysemethoden: Economic Psychology sowie Neuromarketing. In Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Dr. Joachim Scholderer und Associate Prof. Dr. Stephan Zielke erforscht sie in ihrem Promotionsprojekt Transfereffekte von wahrgenommenen Preisen in einer Produktkategorie auf die Preiswahrnehmung weiterer Kategorien.

Neue Veröffentlichung am IfM: „Permission Marketing in der Praxis“ erscheint als zweiter Band der Booklet-Reihe des Siegfried Vögele Instituts

Im Rahmen der Reihe „Dialog-Marketing im digitalen Zeitalter“ veröffentlichte das Siegfried Vögele Institut (SVI) unter der Leitung von Prof. Hesse kürzlich den zweiten Band. Das Booklet mit dem Titel „Permission Marketing in der Praxis“ wurde von Professor Krafft, Laura Kristin Kraus und Christine Arden verfasst und baut auf den am IfM durchgeführten wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen von Dr. Sebastian Saarbeck und Dr. Johannes Wissmann auf.
