We are delighted to announce that we are able offer the course "Theory Construction and Publishing in Leading Journals" this semester.

The course is given by Prof. Dr. Ajay Kohli. The course will take place from 8th to 11th July 2024 at the MCM, room 006 (1st floor). We start at 9 am on Monday morning.

Applications for this course are possible for all doctoral students of the faculty of business and economics by sending an email to Tanja Geringhoff (tanja.geringhoff@wiwi.uni-muenster.de) within the application period.

For didactic reasons, the number of participants is limited. The decision on participation of an applicant will be based on the courses s/he has previously participated in. Please include the relevant information about your previous doctoral courses in your e-mail to Tanja Geringhoff. In case of an equal score, the second criterion will be the first-come, first-served principle. Applications are open from March 18th to May 31st, 2024. You will be informed about your admission status in the second half of June. Additional course information (e.g., on examination modalities) and materials will be sent to the course participants via e-mail. Information for all PhD students: The course is handled as an A-certificate / theory course for the PhD program.

Description

Professor Ajay Kohli will be visiting the University of Muenster to teach a Ph.D. course on "Theory Construction and Publishing in Leading Journals" as part of the faculty-wide doctoral program. Dr. Kohli is Professor of Marketing and Gary T. and Elizabeth R. Jones Chair at Georgia Tech University and the former editor of one of the marketing discipline's outstanding academic publications, the Journal of Marketing. In addition, his work on market orientation and other areas is among the most-cited in marketing. 

The course deals with the following issues: Writing for academics, identifying research problems, construction of theory and conceptual models, working with co-authors, research integrity, paper submissions, responding to reviewers, and writing reviews.
